Typical example of a Home Loan, hereinafter the loan, based on an amount of €100,000 being made available to a customer by APS Bank plc to purchase a first residence. The loan will be subject to a variable borrowing interest rate of 3.0% p.a. (APRC of 3.04% p.a.) and is repayable in 480 equal monthly installments of €360.39 over a maximum term of 40 years. The total sum payable throughout the term of the loan, assuming the interest rate remains unchanged, will be €172,987.20 (being capital of €100,000 and interest of €72,987.20). Bank charges currently applicable on this loan (for the purchase of a first residence only) are: – processing fee is refunded; legal fee is waived; updating of searches fee (every 8 years) is €25 plus VAT, apart from an additional charge of €2 per inscription and registration fees; renewal of hypothec fee (after 30 years) is €50 plus registration fees, excluding out-of-pocket expenses payable at the time; and cancellation (Legal) fee for the hypothec is €46.

The loan is to be secured by a first ranking general and special hypothec and special privilege over the property being financed, a first ranking pledge over a life assurance policy covering the whole loan amount and a buildings insurance policy for the replacement cost of the property being end-financed. In the event of non-observance of the terms and conditions, including non-adherence to the loan repayments by the customer, the Bank may take steps to sell the property financed, following legal proceedings, and the customer may lose the property.

APS Bank plc is licensed to undertake the business of Banking and to conduct Investment Services business by the Malta Financial Services Authority and is enrolled in the Tied Insurance Intermediaries List under the Insurance Distribution Act 2018. The Bank is also a participant in the Depositor Compensation Scheme established under Legal Notice 369 of 2003.
